David’s Gate Prologue, Final Part 3
Comic update!
I’ve been getting a lot of questions about David’s Gate, sorry for keeping you guys in the dark for so long! You might already have heard, but It won the 2018 Creators for creators grant. \o/
I’ve also had some questions about my inspiration for the comic. I answer that and talk more about Terravitio, plans for the Owl Corps, and several other things in this interview with CBR
About DG’s Prologue
The first 2 parts together are 39 pages long, and part 3 will be equally as long. The Prologue as a whole will be ~80 pages. I’m planning to revise many of the pages I’ve already done, so you might see some differences once the Prologue is complete.
I won’t be posting pages weekly like I did before, this last half of the prologue is something I want to be read all at once, so I’ll be working towards that into the early late part of next year.
I hope you look forward to it, much of the prologue might not make a lot of sense until we get further into DG, but I hope we can get there.
There’s a lot of work left to be done. I’m still thinking about streaming, and I’ll try and squeeze in some Owl Corps stuff here and there if I can clear my weekly comic schedule.
THANK YOUUU!
Thanks for sticking around. Its cool to see people from years ago still liking my current stuff, It’s been quite a ride. Thanks also to all of you leaving nice asks and comments, I can’t answer everything but I do read and appreciate them. I don’t mind critiques either, so feel free to send those if you have any.

“It’s been a while since I posted something here that wasn’t just reblogs of my comic, gotta work on that.
These are some of the studies and scribbles I’ve been doing to get familiar with certain animals so I can make designs based on them for future comic appearances, also helps with that bestiary.”

This was also around the start of my owl corps side project
About a year on since I sketched preliminary designs for David, my comic’s MC, I launched a prologue. As I stated in a previous post, the look and feel of these initial pages are something I really hold dear. Looking back now I know for sure I wasn’t anywhere near prepared to see my visions through, intact, at that time. I was just taking things as they came, page by page, no long term detailed writing script; feeding on day to day intuition; driven by vague grand narratives in my head. I would go on to create 65 pages of the prologue like this before realising my tricky predicament.
It felt fulfilling, and I learned a lot.
[2022 review]
“WOOO I’ve hit 200 followers, thanks a bunch guys!
Been super busy in the past week, final Uni project came to an end, and I’ve been trying to collect all my favourite artworks from David’s Gate into this artbook, It’s 48 pages long and I’ve posted most of the stuff on here, but my main reason for making it was to test the waters and learn how this whole process works, printing costs, layout and the like.
That said, holding it in my hands and looking through it, I’m actually pretty proud of it.”
